Split and edit a sequence
Step 1
Select the clip you want to split. Move the playhead to the desired cut and use the scissors control. A split produces two independently editable clips on the same track.
Step 2
Select either half to change its color, text overlays, opacity or speed independently. Drag an edge to trim it, or use the clip controls. Split clips are not merged into one file until you export.
Step 3
Use snapping to line up neighboring clips. A gap in the main track can create empty output, so preview the cut. Ripple tools can move following clips when deleting; check synchronization with music afterward.
Step 4
On a narrow screen, swipe the timeline toolbar horizontally to reveal additional controls. The Properties tab contains the selected clip’s settings.
